    Great video, thanks for posting. All of these are on my "to do" list when I return to the UK. I am currently living and working in Outer Mongolia. I'm searching youtube out here and planning future walks. St. Cuthbert's way looks like a good one. I am currently watching a series on the Wales Coastal path. My favourite ones I've seen so far are the Cape Wrath trail and the Pennine Way. I can't wait to retire in a few years time and attempt all these walks. I have exactly 40 long-distance walks planned and mapped out on GPS. Can't wait to get started! Best Wishes.

    • @TheConstantHiker
      @TheConstantHiker Год назад

      Hi, my Stealth is a silnylon version without a rear door so in certain conditions can suffer with condensation. As I understand it, some of the newer materials cope with condensation better than silnylon and I guess the rear door option helps too. Another thing to consider is the size of the tent, there is little room to do much more than sleep in it. Most of these problems can be alleviated if using it as a tarp, which is another option. ATB 👍

    Very nice piece of kit. Contemplating whether going for the 1.5 or the 2. Presumably, with the front/rear ends being vertical that should suit taller hikers as there aren't any wasted angles.

    • @TheConstantHiker
      @TheConstantHiker 3 года назад

      Hi, you've just highlighted that I haven't produced an update video for the solar/powerbank, something that I had forgotten to do. The powerbank certainly does work but as to 'is it worth having', I would say probably not. This is more to do with the weight and bulk, rather than functionality. In hindsight, I would probably go for a simple solar panel to charge devices or smaller powerbanks on the go. In the absence of an update video, It's worth reading my conversation with Stefan Hansen in the comments section of the powerbank video to get a better idea of my experiences of using it. Thanks.

      Hi, I always buy half to one full size more than my normal shoe size depending on brand. Having said that, the Raptors are quite a narrow fit and although I really like them I have had to review what I wear for my long distance hikes. I now have a pair of Altra Olympus 3.0's, which are very similar in style to the Lone Peak 4's with the wide toe box but with a much thicker sole. Unlike the Lone Peak 4's these are extremely comfortable on rocky terrain although I have yet to wear them on a long hike. I am also looking at trying a pair of La Sportiva Akasha's, which have a wider toe box than the Raptors. Altra shoes are probably a better bet if you have wide feet but I would recommend trying them first. All the best.

    I had done about half the Sussex Border Path before Covid so rudely interrupted me. As soon as the restrictions are lifted I plan to finish it.

    I have done the majority of my walking in Southern England and East Anglia and my 10 favourite walks in no particular order are:- South Downs Way, Greensand Way, Ridgeway, Stour Valley Way, Dales Way, South West Coast Path, Serpent Trail, Wayfarers Walk, Cleveland Way and Two Moors Way. Also recommended are High Weald Trail and Chiltern Way.

      When I lived in the UK, I walked a lot in the Chiltern Hills. I never did the Chiltern Way however. Would you recommend it?

      @@TheConstantHiker Yes, I would - a lovely walk. As well as the main route there is a northern extension, a southern extension and a Berkshire loop totaling in all around 220 miles. In my list above I should have made clear that I was referring to the Suffolk Stour Valley Way as there are paths with the same name in Kent (which I have walked) and Dorset (which I haven't walked).
